It seems that suddenly everyone is buzzing about microneedling. Magazines are writing about it, E is reporting on it, and all of Hollywood seems to be doing it. So what the heck is it? Microneedling, which you may also hear called CIT (Collagen Induction Therapy), is a method of skin rejuvenation that triggers the skin to produce collagen and elastin. Collagen helps to smooth the skin and gives it strength. Elastin provides the ability for the skin to “snap back” and is essential, along with collagen, for youthful looking, well-toned skin. Microneedling is a chemical free treatment that is minimally invasive, involves little to no downtime, and gives really amazing results.

How does it work? A pen like device with a tip of tiny, incredibly fine needles, glides over the skin and gently punctures it creating minute micro channels. Each small puncture that is created is actually a controlled injury to the skin. The formation of each microchannel triggers the body to produce collagen and elastin to heal itself. I know, I know, you’re thinking…… that sounds painful! Great news, it isn’t. Before any microneedling treatment a numbing cream is applied to the treatment area. We want you to feel as comfortable and relaxed as possible during your treatment.

And what about after your treatment? The full recovery period for most people is about three days*. During the recovery period you can expect some redness, mild swelling, and some mild flaking*. Most people are able to go right back to their lives after a microneedling treatment.
